He always has a lot of interesting things to say about the search industry and as this affects all our clients, we thought that it would’ve been a good idea to have it on our blog. TED.com is a website that we really like. When we came across a video about Microsoft’s new project, Pivot, built by their cutting edge development lab, LiveLabs we instantly saw its potential. Pivot is not even in its beta form yet, but when completed will allow the user to search and browse content and data in websites with much greater flexibility.
So we have got in there early and asked to help develop this ground-breaking system and Microsoft obliged by providing us with the .NET Controls. We want to include some of our own ideas about how it can be implemented into websites to thoroughly improve, both the user’s search and view experience, and increase sales online. Watch this space!
WordPress publishing platform is about to get a whole lot more real-time, thanks to a new behind-the-scenes development.
The WordPress team has announced in a blog post that the company has turned on support for PubSubHubbub (try saying that fast five times), a move that will get blog content to RSS services (such as Google Reader and Bloglines) much more quickly.
Essentially it’s a way for hosted WordPress blogs to “push” content out as it’s published to the services, rather than waiting for the services to check in for new posts.
It’s live now for WordPress.com blogs, while self-hosted blogs can go real-time with a plugin.
PubHubSubbub, or PuSH, is demoed nicely in the “cheesy” video (that’s WordPress’ choice of word, not ours) below.

Recently, we have given a helping hand to the visionary product design company, Digitalforming® and their brand UCODO™ which stands for User Co-Designed Objects. The technology is very ground breaking and somewhat difficult to believe! They print in 3D, using different materials, creating objects that can be designed in conjunction with famous designers.
It has been a great honour for us to deliver a landing promotional page using full video and we are excited to see, once the brand launches officially in October 2009, where it will take them. We think a long way!
We also supported Digitalforming® in their outing at the Science Musuem last week. So all the best of luck for Sia, Lisa and Assa and the great team behind Ucodo™ and Digitalforming®.
After much debate, we have jumped on the Open Source Wagon or semi in this case, by adopting Expression Engine as our main development platform. We did so, as the new Expression Engine 2 will be out very soon, and this will work in combination with codeigniter, giving us a really good platform which will allow us to use a powerful and clean XHTML and CSS system for deploying our websites, whilst also providing a great open source code framework for any extra custom requests from our clients.

Digital White has been officially invited to test the new Beta version of Spotify. This is a groundbreaking new application that allows users to listen to all the music they like for a monthly fee (or free if you get an invite). With Spotify there is no need to download or store files in your hard drive; you simply sign up for the application, then listen online to any of the millions of available tracks.
