Anti-Cheque Microsite and Campaign

PayPal and eBay go hand in hand. However there are other ways to send and receive payments on eBay other than PayPal. Cheques is one of them. We launched two campaigns, one directed at sellers suggesting they should not list cheques as a payment method, and the other at buyers suggesting not to buy with cheques even when listed as a payment method.

Using some persuasive copywriting and extending this campaign through targeted emails and banners, we designed a small microsite that stipulated some very good reasons why cheques were bad! The effectiveness of this campaign was marked with a noticeable change in behaviour of both buyers and sellers, which represented a very good return on investment for PayPal.
