Music Export Facebook Microsite
Beck's Music Export was a worldwide sponsorship activation programme using music to promote Beck's to engage their target audience. The headline event was last New Year’s Eve in Chicago, giving the opportunity for an unsigned band to play in the support line-up with the DJ, Mark Ronson. Bands were asked to submit their music on our custom built Facebook Beck's microsite, with the most voted-for band declared the winner of the competition.
Building on our experience with the PayPal Facebook app, we developed an app integrating the then newly-released Facebook Connect, with voting ability, administrative rights, and opportunities to win tickets. Bands were able to create mini profiles where they could upload their songs and videos. The downside was that this was a US-only event and so not visible to our British friends and fans.
